The owner of a Cinderella-themed float for the Nutley-Belleville Columbus Day parade believes some classic nogoodniks have stolen his pride and joy.
Construction company owner Michael Perrone built a float made to look like four horses pulling a golden carriage for this year's parade. The two-ton float is now missing after being left outside Perrone's building on Main Street in Belleville. He had left it covered with a tarp and on concrete blocks.
"People get their cars stolen all the time," says Perrone. "For Cinderella to get her coach stolen is pretty sad."
The float cost approximately $2,000 to build. It's made of wood and fabric, and has no metal or anything of value to resell.
