The western-themed park Wild West City in Byram, Sussex County will not be closing its doors.
The iconic theme park abruptly closed its door two weekends ago, but was back open on Saturday.
According to the New Jersey Herald, visitors were handed fliers saying the estate of owner Michael Stabile Jr., who died back in November, had shut down the park.
Wild West City released a statement, saying, “Wild West City will continue the tradition of the Wild West in New Jersey. The park is now open daily for the season operating as the tri-state area's premier western theme park. The ongoing support for the park has been nothing short of amazing and is greatly appreciated."
Wild West City opened for weekends this year starting in May, and Monday was the start of its expanded summer schedule to weekdays.
The park was founded back in 1956, and has been among the state's best-known theme parks.
