A Toms River couple has turned their homemade guacamole recipe into a thriving business, selling hundreds of orders each week. From farmers markets to stores across Monmouth and Ocean counties, Tommy Guac is quickly becoming a local favorite.
Owners Tommy and Rachel Babinski never set out to start a company. They simply enjoyed making guacamole, and it wasn’t long before friends and family became fans, too.
“I’ve been making guac for years. Whenever we’d go to barbecues, a lot of our friends would say, ‘Tell Tom to make his guac,’” Tommy Babinski said.
After selling out at several local markets and building a loyal customer base, the couple launched Tommy Guac. What started in their home kitchen soon expanded to production space at a Toms River firehouse.
Today, the business sells more than 600 orders a week, all while the couple continues to work full-time jobs.
In addition to their original recipe, Tommy Guac now offers flavors including Mango Menace, Sweet Sting, and Buffamole.
