An entire hanger was filled with excitement and Disney's biggest stars this morning as the Sunshine Foundations’ annual Operation Dreamlift took off once again from Trenton-Mercer Airport.
The Sunshine Foundation grants wishes and dreams to chronically ill, terminally ill and handicapped children.
“It allows her to do something that sometimes we all take for granted that it's just so easy for other kids, you know, the airplane experience, the park experience, and it just allows her to experience it in a way that's comfortable for her," says Megan Labuda, of Hamilton.
The organization works hard all year long, but couldn't make this trip a reality without plenty of assistance from volunteers and first responders, including the New Jersey State Police.
“This is a great way to interact with the kids, interact with their families, interact with local law-enforcement and local volunteers,” says Sgt. Jeff Flynn with the New Jersey State Police.
The kids will spend the entire day in Disney World, where it’s partly sunny with temperatures in the mid to upper-80s.
They will return back later tonight.
