Tenants of an apartment building in Rahway are complaining of unbearable living conditions.

The tenants say they are struggling to keep their apartments warm after a neighboring building was torn down. The city stepped in and demolished the building at 189 West Main Street after a partial collapse. But residents say their walls feel like ice since the demolition. Many said their utility bills have skyrocketed because they have to keep their heat on full blast.

City officials say it is the building owner?s responsibility to keep tenants warm. News 12 New Jersey tried to contact the building?s owner, Joseph Sinisi, but he did not return calls.
