Six months after News 12 The Bronx exposed horrific living conditions at a building on Manida Street, residents say the conditions have not improved and the building is under foreclosure.
A Bronx housing judge has appointed a new property manager to take over 625-627 Manida St. after tenants complained of exposed piping, mold on the walls, broken doors, garbage strewn in hallways and outside and vermin running throughout the building. Some tenants went without water for more than 14 days.
Though construction crews have begun repairs on the building, tenants say they don't think the renovations will make the building livable.
