Firefighters fought a 10-alarm fire in Elizabeth Saturday that engulfed an entire block of houses and left dozens homeless.More than 150 firefighters from Elizabeth, Jersey City and throughout Essex County responded to the fire that broke out at about 2:30 a.m. More than 30 people were forced from their Spring Street homes as flames jumped from house to house. Meteorologist Michele Powers says whipping winds fueled the flames.Authorities believe the blaze started in what's left of a corner apartment building and spreading quickly to a row of houses. The Red Cross is contributing food and clothing vouchers for people left homeless from the fire. Many victims are staying at a community center on Anna Street.
