Two lanes on I-80 westbound that closed more than three months ago due to a massive sinkhole reopened late Friday night.
The ordeal has plagued drivers with detours and longer commutes since February.
Officials are reminding drivers to be mindful that this is still an active work zone. They are advised to slow down and use caution.
The speed limit will be reduced to 45 mph on I-80 westbound through the work zone and will remain 40 mph on I-80 eastbound.
The next milestone is to reopen all lanes in both directions by June 25, according to the DOT.
