Teenagers wielding bats attacked two public servants in Hamilton Sunday.
A retired police officer and a volunteer firefighter were both the victims of attacks that took place just hours apart.
Retired Trenton cop Chris Stout was attacked Sunday afternoon on Charlotte Avenue during a children's touch-football game. The former police officer said the teenagers began the melee using fists, but soon moved to other weapons like cinderblocks and pipes before neighbors chased off the group.
"Everybody was telling me they brought the bats out," said Stout. "They started beating me like crazy."
Another attack targeted volunteer firefighter Rob Miller Sunday evening around 9:00 p.m. Miller said the group that attacked him swung bats at his head as he walked down a street near his home. Miller couldn't identify the assailants.
"There's so many I don't know who they are," said Miller.
Police are currently investigating the beatings and trying to determine whether it was the same group of kids terrorizing the New Jersey neighborhood.
