Four teens are facing charges in Beachwood for shooting 26 students with a toy gun Monday at Toms River Intermediate School South, according to police.
Authorities say they were alerted to students being shot with Orbeez guns while they were walking on the outdoor track during gym class.
The students were brought back indoors, and those who were hit were checked for injuries by the school nurse staff, according to police. They say 26 students were struck by the Orbeez beads. No one was seriously injured.
An Orbeez gun is described as a high-powered water gun that shoots small, colorful Orbeez beads.
Officials say they confiscated the three guns and later received another report of teens shooting Orbeez at a home on Mizzen Avenue. They say the victim was struck in the leg. They were not seriously injured.
The four teens were charged with harassment and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.
