Six Monmouth County teenagers face jail time for the their alleged role in two beatings of a man from Marlboro.
Alan Sluboski, Kevin Boyton, Justin Powell and Charles Cleary have been charged with aggravated assault for the two alleged attacks on the 57-year-old victim. Two others whose names have not been released face charges as well. The young men are aged between 17 and 19 years old.
The victim suffered broken ribs, head trauma and internal injuries in what police are calling a random act of violence. He also had teeth knocked out of his mouth.
Police said the group shouted obscenities at the victim after leaving a party in Marlboro. The teens proceeded to punch and kick the man after an exchange of words, police said.
Authorities believe the teenagers regrouped after the attack and waited for the victim at the corner of Route 79 and Nolan Road before initiating a second assault.
?I don't know why these kids would do this to an individual,? said Detective Erik Nolte. ?I don?t know why.?
