An early morning shooting left a teenager injured in Paterson on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim at approximately 2:43 a.m. in the area of 129 East Holsman Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers located a 14-year-old male sitting on the sidewalk. The teenager was suffering from multiple nonfatal gunshot wounds.

Medical personnel immediately transported the victim to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. His current medical condition has not been released.

While the wounded teenager was discovered on East Holsman Street, police said they were unable to locate any initial evidence of a shooting — such as ballistic casings or property damage — at that exact location. Investigators are working to determine where the actual shooting took place before the injured teen made it to the sidewalk.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities have not yet released information regarding potential suspects or a motive, promising updates as more details are confirmed.
