An 18-year-old man is accused of fatally stabbing his grandmother inside an apartment complex in Jackson Township.
The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says authorities received a 911 call that someone was killed inside the Jackson Green Apartments on Justin Way. They say that when officers arrived at the home, they found Louis Brown standing in the front doorway. They say he exited the home with his hands up and was taken into custody.
Officials say officers then found 69-year-old Darlene Brown dead inside an upstairs bedroom. She was stabbed multiple times, according to officials. They say two knives were found protruding from her body.
The prosecutor says that it was Louis Brown who called 911 to report the crime. He was taken to Ocean County Jail to be held pending a detention hearing.
