(04/06/06) TRENTON ? State officials say New Jersey will have a little more cash to play with this year to help balance the budget.
The state treasurer claims New Jersey will receive approximately $320 more than expected. However, the Office of Legislative Services puts the number at about $290 million. Income tax numbers for the state will be finalized in a month.
Despite the extra money, there?s not much cheering going on in Trenton. The estimated $300 million will only put a dent in the $4.5 billion budget shortfall.
