A Tarrytown temple held a memorial service Wednesday marking three years since the deadly Oct. 7 attacks in Israel.

Rabbi David Vaisberg, of Temple Beth Abraham, reflected on the uncertainty he felt following the attacks and said that feeling remains prevalent today.

“We're all kind of existing in a state of limbo. But, Israelis are very resilient and they figure out how to keep going with their lives,” Vaisberg said.

In the years since the attacks, Vaisberg said he has made several trips to Israel with three primary goals: to bear witness, volunteer and show solidarity.

He shared photos from those trips, including memorials honoring people who lost their lives, the site of the Nova music festival and damaged homes and safe spaces.

Vaisberg said preserving those sites and sharing their stories are important ways to ensure what happened is remembered.

That effort continued Wednesday in Tarrytown, where the memorial event was held to honor and commemorate those who lost their lives.
