FORECAST:

Conditions are fantastic locally for the next few days. Highs reach nearly 80 today with a super sunny sky. The high pressure that's in control of our weather lasts through at least Saturday midday. Saturday will feature the arrival of thin clouds that would be associated with the then remnant moisture of Hurricane Isaias.

Eventually, the nice weather ends as the remnant rain from the tropical cyclone arrives to New Jersey on Sunday afternoon and evening - likely after 2 p.m.. This batch of rain moves quickly across the state. The impact isn't huge, but it is notable as it marks the 37th of the 41 weekends so far in 2026 with rain. There is a low risk for impacts due to excessive rainfall such as road ponding, and some localized flooding in the most prone areas.

Currently, the rain forecast is volatile - changing based on track and intensity of the moisture plume. Don't get confused - it WILL rain on Sunday afternoon and evening, but the question lies with "how much?" Realistic estimates put about 1" or more in some spots in the state. This will be modified as time gets closer.
