A New Jersey amusement park was forced to close early after several people were sickened by fumes.
A spokesperson for Action Park says the park closed at 6 p.m. as a precaution after the Park Aquatics team noticed a strong odor in the "Roaring Springs" section of the park. The Sussex County Hazmat team was called in to investigate.
Several lifeguards were treated for eye and respiratory irritation. None of the park's guests were affected, according to the spokesperson.
The spokesperson says that all sanitizing chemicals used in the waterpark were within normal limits and the incident appears to be an isolated occurrence.
Action Park is scheduled to reopen Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
