Suspect injured during police-involved shooting in Passaic

Passaic Mayor Hector Lora says police received reports of a man shooting a gun in the area of Passaic Avenue and Lackawanna Place Wednesday night.

A suspect is in the hospital today following a police-involved shooting in Passaic Wednesday.

Passaic Mayor Hector Lora tells News 12 New Jersey that just before 6:30 p.m. police received reports of a man shooting a gun in the area of Passaic Avenue and Lackawanna Place near the train station.

When officers arrived, they exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

Lora says that no police officers or civilians were hurt. 

He says that the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General are involved in the investigation.
