One of the suspects in the Newark execution-style killings was in court Monday on unrelated cases.
Jose Carranza, 28, is one of the suspects accused of killing Dashon Harvey, 20, Terrance Aeriel, 18, Iofemi Hightower, 20, and injuring Natasha Aeriel. Carranza faced a judge for indictments involving child sex charges and assault. The judge ruled to revoke his bail for both indictments.
Carranza has pleaded not guilty in the execution-style murders.
Carranza?s illegal immigration status has prompted city Councilman Ron Rice to introduce a resolution that would require Newark police officers to contact federal officials when they find an illegal immigrant who has committed a felony.
Meanwhile, investigators continue to look for Rodolfo Godinez, 24, who is considered a key suspect.
Authorities have focused their investigation on the Ivy Hill Park Apartments. Police believe the suspects, Carranza and the two 15-year-olds in custody, likely met at the apartment complex. Some residents also believe the suspects could have belonged to the MS-13 gang.
