A Hackensack food icon is moving up the road - but all the things customers love about a trip to White Manna Hamburgers are along for the ride.

White Manna Hamburgers has earned decades of customer loyalty since coming to Hackensack in 1946.

“I started coming here in 1965 with my mother and father," said Charles Greene, who now lives in Washington, D.C.

“Since 1969, when I was a freshman at Fairleigh Dickinson," said customer Mike Medaglia.

The restaurant will move up Hackensack Avenue, closer to FDU. Renderings show the original restaurant - and its iconic signage - beside outdoor seating and expanded parking, with the expansion in back.

This is a relocation of the original White Manna, which came as good news to its patrons.

“I look forward to the new place," said Greene. "I am glad this is not going away because so much in Hackensack has changed and this is a great place.”

“As long as they don’t mess with the formula, the hamburgers!" said Medaglia.

The planning board approved the application this month. No word on when the restaurant is planning to move.
