An onshore flow cool breeze coming in off the ocean has drastically changed the weather over New Jersey.
Mainly cloudy skies are caused by a nearby stationary front laying just to the south, across Delaware and Maryland. But the rawness to the air, especially at the shore, was due entirely to the winds coming in off Atlantic.
The high for the day was 72 degrees. Normally it should be 86 degrees and three days ago it was 103 degrees.
Please don't get used to the cool down, as the winds are a changing and heat and humidity will be rolling back to set up another stretch of 90 degree-plus days.
The weekend is here, and it looks good. There is a chance for a shower or thunderstorm Saturday around 8 p.m. Other than that, Saturday will consist of sun and clouds, with warm and muggy conditions.
Sunday looks even better. There is no rain in the forecast as fair weather tries to establish a better foot hold over the region. It will be mainly sunny for Sunday highs peak to around 90°, but it will feel warmer because of that summer wind.
