As some Garden State residents get ready to hit the road for a weekend getaway, they should expect to pay more at the pump.
Gas at a Lukoil station at the Cheesequake rest stop went up 9 cents overnight. Motorists filling up Friday will have to shell out $2.51 a gallon.
Some residents say they will be staying closer to home this summer. Still, drivers recognize that this year's gas prices represent an improvement over last year's, when they had to pay $4 a gallon.
