In the wake of 6 train station closures, not only will commuters have to change their routines, but local business are expected to take a hit, as well.
The closures at stations on Zerega and Buhre avenues began Saturday at 12:01 a.m. It is all part of an ongoing $109 million renewal program from the MTA.
Although commuters may welcome these changes, business owners say they have already noticed a drop in foot traffic in their stores.
One store employee says he has seen a sharp decline in business since the closure, and is unsure of how well the store will do in the future.
The station closures are expected to last through February 2015. A total of five stations are slated to be renovated.
