Some Passaic County teens are getting a lesson in healthy eating and business.
Students from Clifton and Paterson schools will be operating a farm stand one day a week that will feature local, organic produce.
The stand will accept and double federal food benefits, giving people in urban areas access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
Jennifer Papa, of the nonprofit group City Green, says the goal is to teach students about running a business.
"They learn valuable business skills," she says. "They learn to run our farm stand, and they learn about sustainable agriculture."
The stand will be open every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in front of the Paterson federal building.
