Irvington High School students may be happy about the recent shortened classes and days off due to a heating problem, but parents are fed up.
For over a week, students say they have been going to school for half-days because the building on Clinton Avenue is too cold. On Tuesday, the school canceled classes while crews tried to restore heat in the building. According to school officials, the problem is due to a panel that got flooded during a storm and knocked out the power that supplies heat.
Parents say this is not the first time the school canceled classes due to heating problems. Many parents hope the problem is fixed soon because they do not like leaving their teens home alone during the day.
