The students and staff of Ben Borat Yosef school in Paramus say that they are pretty sure that they broke the record for the largest human menorah.
School officials say that 577 students and staffed worked together to make the menorah. The previous record was only 150 people, so the staff is pretty confident that they broke the record.
School officials say that this was a great project to bring the student body together.
“It takes the lesson of the miracle of Hanukkah and literally makes it come alive,” said Rabbi Saul Zucker.
A representative from Guinness World Records was at the school Wednesday. Final confirmation of the record is expected within the next few weeks.
