Students at Montclair State University rallied in support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-gendered (LGBT) community tonight after several threats of violence were made against them recently on campus.
Hundreds of students also packed into a meeting this evening held by administrators and law enforcement. Both events were held in response to anti-gay graffiti that was found scrawled on a bathroom wall last week, as well as a threatening note left under the door at the LGBT office in the student center.
Campus Police Chief Paul Cells says the threatening note contained a specific date, so it goes beyond a mere prank and rises to the level of a crime.
