One of the students injured in last week’s school bus crash on Interstate 80 received a special surprise from a member of one of his favorite teams.
Brendan O’Callaghan is one of over 30 children injured in the crash last Thursday. He suffered a broken collar bone and punctured lung, among other injuries, and is still at Morristown Medical Center.
Brendan is a huge Rangers fan and he received a signed hockey stick from goalie Henrik Lundqvist. Brendan’s father filmed his son receiving the stick and posted it on Facebook. The video has been shared hundreds of times.
Brendan may even get to meet Lundqvist once he gets out of the hospital.
This is the latest example of the community coming together to help the students affected by the crash.
Over 2,000 people have donated to the GoFundMe page for Miranda Vargas, the student who died in the crash. A funeral was held for Miranda Monday.
Teacher Jennifer Williamson-Kennedy was also killed.
