A 13-year-old Newark boy was struck by a stray bullet while inside his home Tuesday.
According to a spokesman for the Newark Police Department, the teen was in his room doing homework just before midnight when he heard a loud "boom" and began to feel pain in his arm.
He went to his mother, who discovered a bullet hole in the boy's shoulder. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Newark police officers found a bullet hole from the home's outer hallway into the family's apartment.
