Over 4,000 homes are without power Tuesday night after a series of thunderstorms crossed over New Jersey.
The storms brought heavy rain and strong wind Tuesday afternoon and evening before moving off the coast into the Atlantic Ocean.
Many of the homes without power are in Bergen County where strong gusts of winds brought down trees in towns like Maywood. Those trees brought down some power lines and utility poles.
The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma placed much of the Garden State under an "enhanced risk" for severe weather, the third highest of five rankings.
New Jersey’s utility companies say that crews will be out working to restore power as quickly as possible.
