Police in Lakewood have been cracking down on those who are not following social distancing rules.

Authorities in New Jersey say the owners of Toys4U in Lakewood were charged Monday with violating emergency orders for operating their toy store.

According to police, Owner Yossi Itzkowitz, as well as manager Tzvi Blau, 29, were charged by police.

Police say they found around 50 or more people outside the store, with an employee taking orders at the door. There were 10 employees inside the store who were not social distancing. Only three were wearing masks. Most customers waiting outside were not social distancing or wearing masks.

 

Police also say the parking lot was completely filled, and there were 10 cars in the fire lane in front of the store, which is located in a shopping center on Madison Avenue.

Lakewood police also arrested seven people Sunday for violating emergency orders after finding a large gathering of adults and children in the backyard of a house.

Police say a chef and two waiters were catering the event and that children were playing in a bouncy castle. A long table set up with a tablecloth, plates, utensils and chairs was also found.

Everyone arrested was from New York.
