Prosecutor: Bus driver accused of molesting 2 students during game of ‘hide-and-seek’
Authorities say a Kinnelon school bus driver sexually assaulted two young female students during daily games of “hide-and-seek” on the bus.
Morris County prosecutors say 70-year-old Thomas Thomasevich was arrested Tuesday. The Oakland man was charged with sexual assault, child endangerment and cruelty and neglect of children. Authorities say that he was working for Butler-based First Student Bus Company at the time.
Authorities say Thomasevich told officers he might have touched one student, but that it was accidental because his eyes were closed for the game. He denied touching the other student.
Authorities say the sexual assaults began last October and continued near-daily until one of the girls reported the abuse to guidance counselors last month.
Thomasevich is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance. It was not known if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.
