The flu is sweeping through New Jersey this season, and health officials say certain areas of the state are seeing a surge in cases.
According to state health
officials, reports of the flu are high in the northwest, central and southern parts of New Jersey. In the northeast and central-eastern parts of the state, cases remain moderate, officials say.
Officials say the predominant strain of the flu is type B.
Nineteen fatalities have been reported across the U.S., with one in New Jersey.
