The Monmouth County prosecutor says that the whereabouts of an Ocean Township woman who went missing following a fire at her home “remains a mystery.”
Jacqueline Terrulli, 65, went missing on Sept. 12 after a fire badly damaged her home on Wickapecko Drive in Ocean Township. Terrulli lived with several relatives, as well as 49-year-old Ronald Teschner, a family friend.
Police say that after the fire, only Terrulli and Teschner were unaccounted for. Teschner was found the next day, allegedly driving Terrulli’s 2019 Jeep Cherokee. Police say that they found Terrulli’s jewelry and some shotguns inside the car with Teschner.
Teschner is facing weapons charges and charges of receiving stolen property and will remain in jail until trial.
Authorities have not said if they believe if Teschner had anything to do with Terrulli’s disappearance. But the missing woman’s family says that they fear the worst. Family members have told News 12 New Jersey that Terrulli was attempting to kick Teschner out of the home prior to the fire.
Terrulli has remained missing – leading to a large search effort. Police divers were seen searching a lake near Terrulli’s home last week looking for evidence linked to her disappearance.
Police are now asking for the public’s help in locating Terrulli.
“On behalf of our law enforcement partners and Jacqueline Terrulli’s family, we are urging anyone with any information regarding her whereabouts or the events leading up to her disappearance to please come forward and contact us,” said Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni in a statement.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Patrick Petruzziello of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at 800-533-7443 and/or Detective Chris Brady of the Ocean Township Police Department at 732-531-1800.
Anonymous tips can be provided by calling 1-800-671-4400 or texting “MONMOUTH” plus the tip to 274637.
