Investigators were back in Ocean Township this week searching the woods around the site of a home that went up in flames, and one of the homeowners still remains missing.
The fire last Thursday destroyed the home on Wickapecko Drive that was shared by Ronald Teschner, 49, and Jacquelin Terruli, 65. Terruli has been missing since the fire.
Terrulli’s mother, brother and sister, Briten Alston, lived in the home with her. Teschner also lived at the home, and is described as a family friend who was down on his luck. Terrulli’s family says she allowed Teschner to stay in the house temporarily and gave him work at one of her businesses.
But the family also says that Terrulli was trying to get Teschner to move out.
Teschner was arrested the day after the fire, and charged with assault, drug possession, and receiving stolen property.
Police found Teschner inside Terrulli’s Jeep Cherokee in Paterson. He had shotguns and some of Terrulli’s jewelry.
According to prosecutors, Teschner also assaulted a Paterson police officer
The family alleges Teschner did something to harm Terrulli.
Four of the family’s pets died in the fire.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about Terrulli’s whereabouts to call Detective Wayne Raynor of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-800-533-7443 or Detective Darius Davis of the Asbury Park Police Department at 732-774-1300.
