A New Jersey state senator has announced he will be fighting to get driver’s licenses in the hands of undocumented immigrants.
The co-sponsor of the bill says he believes it will make the roads safer and help those immigrants secure jobs.
Sen. Nicholas Sacco, a Democrat serving the 32nd Legislative District, is a member of the transportation committee.
"What it does is protect those people who need to find employment that they will have a valid driver’s license."
Sacco says he's hoping to have the bill passed within the year.
