A man accused of killing an infant with his car in Raritan while drunk and high on heroin has pleaded guilty.
Ronald Rebernik was driving a Ford Escape last July when he crossed the road line, hit two parked cars and struck 1-year-old Matias Ortega.
Officials say Rebernik also struck the infant’s mother and 5-year-old brother. Ortega was in a stroller, on his way to his first birthday party.
Rebernik has pled guilty to seven counts, including vehicular manslaughter.
Rebernik was arrested on drug charges hours before the crash but police let him go.
