STORM WATCH: Warm and breezy today in New Jersey; showers to arrive overnight

Sunshine and 70s return today but expect rain and a few thunderstorms to move in late tonight, followed by cooler, gusty weather Monday.

FORECAST: A mild and breezy day ahead with plenty of sunshine and highs near the low to mid 70s. Winds will pick up through the afternoon, gusting as high as 30 mph. Clouds move in tonight as a cold front moves in from the west, bringing showers and a few thunderstorms, mainly after 2 a.m. It’ll stay windy and mild overnight with lows near the mid to upper 50s.
Rain and a few morning thunderstorms continue into early Monday before tapering off by midday. Temperatures will hover in the low 60s through the afternoon, with gusty west winds up to 35 mph making it feel cooler. Skies clear Monday night with lows dipping into the upper 40s.
Tuesday brings sunshine and more comfortable conditions with highs near to mid to upper 60s, followed by another chance for showers Tuesday night. The rest of the week looks quiet and seasonable, with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 60s.
