STORM WATCH: Rain, wind, and widespread coastal flooding bring nasty travel for Brooklyn

Here’s what you need to know:
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect through 6 p.m. The strongest gusts will happen this morning, reaching up to 50 mph. Power outages and downed tree limbs/ trees are likely.
A COASTAL FLOOD Warning is in effect through 6 p.m. Widespread coastal flooding expected through this afternoon during high tide. 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 ft of inundation above ground level will flood areas near the waterfront and shorelines. Places like the Bronx River Parkway will likely have flooded roads and near Bergen Beach, East NY and Canarsie in Brooklyn.
Windy and wet weather is bringing nasty travel conditions this morning. It is advised to reduce speed when driving over bridges today due to the high wind gusts and poor visibility due to the rain. Temperatures are in the mid-50s this morning.
Rain will become more scattered after 3 p.m. with gusts scaling back to near 35 MPH. Highs will be struggling to get to near 60 degrees.
Communities away from the coast will face strong to damaging winds gusts, which could result in outages and downed trees. Weather conditions slowly improve on Tuesday.
Tuesday will be cloudy, damp, slightly milder and less windy.
It gets brighter and close to seasonable by the end of this week with highs in the 60s and low in the 40s a 50s.
TRACKING THE TROPICS: There's a medium chance of a tropical wave to develop in the next 7 days. It is likely to become a tropical depression or storm by the end of this week.

Tuesday: Damp, cloudy and breezy. Highs near 64. Lows near 55.
Wednesday: Brighter, near seasonable and a lighter breeze. Highs near 66. Lows near 46.
Thursday: Sunny and much cooler. Highs near 58. Lows near 44.
Friday: Sunny, Fall chill and pleasant. Highs near 62. Lows near 49.
