The brunt of the consistent, steady rain is now coming to an end. There will be opportunities for a few leftover showers to make an appearance in tonight's forecast, but nothing like we experienced earlier today.
As our storm plods away from the state, the winds will change direction. Fair weather moving in quickly behind this rainmaker will keep the pressure gradient very tight, and the winds will continue to blow.
With the ground now being pretty saturated from a good soaking, older trees and their root system might not have anything left to hang on to and could easily be pushed over. Just because it isn't raining doesn't mean we are out of the woods with possible power outages.
Friday will be windy with gusts up to 45-50 mph. Temperatures will only be in the mid-50s. The wind will make it feel snappier. An extra layer will be needed over costumes to keep the little ones safe and comfortable on Halloween night.
The weekend is dry and features sunshine. The wind will settle some but linger into Saturday.
