Scattered thunderstorms are developing along a stationary front draped across the state.
Thunder, lightning and localized flooding will be the primary threats with these weather disrupters. The best opportunity for a more organized line of storms would be much later tonight. The focus of rain looks to be along and south of Interstate 195. Southern Monmouth and northern Ocean counties have the best chance to see the worst the weather has to offer.
Thursday ushers in punishing heat. Daily high temperatures will soar into the upper 90s. The air will be brimming with moisture. It is going to feel much more uncomfortable - like walking around with a wet/hot blanket on.
Slow things down tomorrow. Stay hydrated. Stay inside if you can. If you can't, take as many cooling breaks as you can. It will feel like 100 to 110 degrees at times.
There is relief in the forecast and it comes in the form of a front that will bring back refreshing-feeling air for Friday and Saturday. Both days could be the best the summer has to offer. Mainly sunny. Seasonably warm. Very little humidity to speak of.
