NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALERTS:

Flood Warning For eastern Ulster County In effect until 8 p.m. Sunday Minor flooding is forecast to occur at the Esopus Creek at Mount Marion. It is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening and crest (reach it's peak of 21.2 feet) Saturday evening. It will fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
Flood Warning For central to eastern Ulster County In effect now until 10 a.m. Sunday Minor flooding is forecast to occur at the Rondout Creek at Rosendale. It is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening and crest (reach it's peak of 18.2 feet) around midnight tonight. It will fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. Flood stage is 18 feet.
Flood watch or Dutchess and Ulster counties in effect through Saturday morning, until the latest of 8 a.m. Forecast up to an additional 0.5 inches of rain is on the way tonight into Saturday morning. Saturated grounds and low-lying areas could see standing/ponding water occur easily. Flood advisories and Flash flood warnings may pop-up, based on the severity of the flooding on a case-by-case basis.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • Showers will be taping off and should be over by early Saturday morning. Expect drier conditions and breezy winds through Saturday afternoon as the skies start to clear out. The temperatures will move up to normal levels this time of the year.
  • Sunday is Mother's Day, and it looks marvelous! Get ready to celebrate the mom in your life, and feel free to do so anytime, day or night. That is how nice the weather will be and how long it will last. Monday is going to be just as nice, but afterwards, clouds start to move in. Another chance for rain arrives overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
