The rain totals on Friday ranged from .03 inches at the Shore to well over 2 inches in northwestern parts of the state.
The rain fell in New Jersey reservoirs, which is exactly where we needed it to fall. While we are still in a drought, this kind of rain can certainly put a dent in the water shortage dilemma.
Clouds will cling to the region tonight. We still have a few pulses of energy (storms) sliding northward, along our coastline. I can't rule out a few renegade light showers through the first part of tonight. Otherwise, overcast skies linger until daybreak.
Saturday turns out to be a fantastic day. It will be a bit breezy, but the skies will be bright and blue. Afternoon highs will reach the low and mid-70s.
Sunday will be a wonderful day for mothers around New Jersey. There is nothing but sunshine with highs reaching for the mid- to upper 70s.
The start of the new work/school week is sunny and dry, but another complicated weather system is forecasted to stall over the region mid-week with rain.
