Three things to know:
The morning temperatures today are even colder than how they were Tuesday morning, ouch! But, thankfully with less gusty winds around, it does not feel as cold as it could be. Temperatures will trend to feel near zero for the morning hours before they start to go up through the day. A southernly flow of wind and mostly sunny skies will help to make the temperatures rise into the afternoon hours. A warm front will pass by later this evening/tonight, bringing a wintry mix of showers to the region.
Thursday will be the mildest day of the week, and for the rest of the month of January. Temperatures will climb above the normal high of 37 degrees for many across the Hudson Valley. There will be a mix of sun and clouds along with a southwesterly flow of winds. As a result of these conditions, we get to give the day the "Pick of the Week" status! Enjoy the "warm snap" while it is here, as temperatures will turn frigid again for Friday evening into the weekend. This next shot of Arctic air will be even colder than this most recent round. This chilly blast will set the stage for the region to possibly see a large winter storm move in Sunday to Monday. More details are on the way here at News12.
