A pit bull stolen from a Maywood home has been reunited with her owner.

Matthew Zottarelli says that his pit bull Luna was stolen from his home last week while he was at work. The thieves apparently got into the home by opening a window.

Zottarelli says that Luna was found a few days ago and kept safe by another person. That person was intending to keep Luna until family members told him that the dog may be missing, according to Zottarelli.

Luna and her owner were reunited Tuesday. Zottarelli says that she was found with a cone on her head and had her ears surgically cut.

Maywood police are looking into the theft.
