A woman is dead and a man had to be airlifted to the hospital following a fatal crash early Monday in Woodbridge Township, state police say.
The incident happened at around 5:51 a.m. southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike outer roadway.
A Mercedes and a Ford van were reportedly involved in the crash.
A female occupant of the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene, and a male occupant was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
The outer roadway was closed for a time, but has since reopened.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
