A Shelter Island man is accused of possessing child pornography.
State police say Juan Pablo Chuqimarca Guzman was initially arrested on Oct. 23 and released on three counts of possession of child pornography.
They say a further forensic investigation revealed that he had more than 4,000 explicit videos of children on his devices.
A news release from state police said Guzman is “an illegal immigrant from Ecuador and resided with a 2-year-old.”
He was held on $1 million cash bail and had to surrender his passport.
