State officials request $15M in funding for improvements at Connecticut state parks

A state bond commission is expected to discuss the authorization of $15 million of funds for improvements at several state parks.
State officials are requesting a total of $15 million in state bond money.
Officials say the funds are being requested to help finance the first phase of repairs, preventative maintenance, and new construction at various state park, forest and wildlife management areas.
Of the $15 million, $750,000 is being requested for Sherwood Island State Park in Westport to renovate the storage facility and add a new equipment storage building.
Funds are also being requested to renovate the boat launch at Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield.
Other sites that would be allocated money include Salt Rock State Park, Rocky Neck State Park, and Harkness Memorial State Park.
The state bond commission meeting will take place today.
