Standoff involving child in Matawan ends with arrest of Monmouth County man

Police received a call shortly before midnight on Saturday, reporting that a man with a restraining order against him was refusing to leave a home on Wilson Avenue.

A Monmouth County man has been arrested after a standoff with police involving a child in Matawan.

Police received a call shortly before midnight on Saturday, reporting that a man with a restraining order against him was refusing to leave a home on Wilson Avenue.

Daniel Weber, 31, was reportedly at the residence with his 8-year-old daughter. Police stated that Weber did not release the child for more than three hours. By 4:30 Sunday morning.

Weber peacefully surrendered. He is now facing charges for harassment and making terroristic threats.
