A Brick Township police officer is being hailed as a hero for saving the life of a woman he found stabbed on the Cherry Quay bike trail.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer says that the officer – identified by the Brick Township police chief as Officer Michael Miller – was out on patrol Thursday around 5:30 p.m. when he found the victim lying in the parking lot. She was outside of her vehicle and injured.
The victim was able to tell Miller who stabbed her, and he was quickly arrested. Billhimer tells News 12 New Jersey that this was a domestic violence incident.
Harry Bray, of Manchester, is now facing attempted murder charges and weapons offenses.
A detention hearing is scheduled for next week. Billhimer says he will push to make sure Bray is not let out on bail and remains in custody until his trial.
